A propos
Up there, at an altitude of eight hundred meters, in the Bruche Valley in Natzwiller, men and women made their living from weaving and growing barley and rye—until the Nazis came and built the Struthof concentration camp there.
Even today, the people and the mountains bear the scars of those wounds, the layers of that shattered memory. In every house, a story lies dormant. Up there, through the windows of the last remaining witnesses, the film explores the topography of these places and maps out memories, while also telling a story of humanity.
